A long beach, wind car and Atlantic Forest

The Red-tailed Amazon is the symbol of Ilha Comprida, a 74 km-long and 4 km-wide beach, which has different names as it stretches southwards. The area is suitable for the use of wind cars, a type of sail car.

Conserved Atlantic Forest, sandbanks and mangroves stand out with their rich and abundant fauna and flora.

The busiest beaches are in the center-north. To the south it is possible to see the islands of Bom Abrigo and Cardoso.

It is also possible to go trekking and sail through Mar Pequeno (the channel between the island and the continent).

Main attractions

Wind car races, boat rides to the islands of Bom Abrigo and Cardoso, trekking in the Atlantic Forest, Mar Pequeno and local handicraft.
